Flourishment

12-2PM EVERY 4TH TUESDAY

Next Luncheon: August 25, from 12:00-2:00pm (Virtual Meeting)

A monthly luncheon for leaders who care about human flourishing

Note: We’re holding Flourishment remotely by video conference, to enable as many to attend as possible given the recent health concerns.

Two tickets are available in the registration area: single-attendance tickets, and tickets for two or more of your teammates. This is a wonderful chance to include others who haven’t been able to attend in person yet!

Flourishment 2020

BUSINESS AS UNUSUAL

We spent some time planning for 2020, looking over the suggestions you made over 2019…and we’re delighted to announce our entire slate of dates and topics for this coming year.

This year's schedule focuses on one aspect of flourishing each quarter. These build throughout the year, enabling you to be increasingly effective and a leader who brings flourishing to your organization & your relationships.

We’ll continue the emphasis on “Lunch & Do”, on integration and action. Some months we’ll have special guests, and every month will include the collaboration workshop where you’ll walk away with One Thing you are committed to trying or doing in the next month.

It’s going to be an exciting adventure together, we hope you can be a part of it.

Q1: PERSONAL FLOURISHING

  • January 28: What’s Faith got to do with it? (faith & work)

  • February 25: Work-life wholeness (work & rest)

  • March 24: Marching to the beat of a different drummer (breaking an industry mold)

Q2: LEADERSHIP FLOURISHING

  • April 28: How to communicate like a boss

  • May 26: The 7 hurdles to being a great decision-maker

  • June 23: Coaching your team into next-generation leaders

Q3: TEAM FLOURISHING

  • July 28: Conflict-defusing strategies

  • August 25: How to grow a healthy culture

    • About this month: Peter Drucker once famously said that “culture eats strategy for breakfast”. Many leaders these days tout the power of culture, but how do you grow a healthy culture?

Just like there are principles and practices for growing a healthy vegetable garden, there are also principles and practices that can help grow a healthy people-culture.

In August we have a truly special guest. Dan Rundle is the CEO of The Worthwhile Company, headquartered in Greenville. Worthwhile has been around for over 25 years now, and they have been working on growing a healthy culture that entire time. They’re doing something right because they landed #2 on the list of Best Places to Work in South Carolina in 2019!

Dan has learned a lot about growing a healthy culture over the years and we’re excited to have him as our guest conversationalist in August.

  • Sept. 22: Collaborate like a real live team

Q4: CLIENT RELATIONSHIP FLOURISHING

  • October 27: What if sales weren’t a dirty word?

  • November 17: Build trust through flourishing contracts

  • December 15: Design shalom into your client experience

The Story of Flourishment

You know Napa Valley, right? You think of them for their great wine, but for a long time what they produced was so second-tier that they sold it by the gallon. It wasn’t until vineyard owners started getting together regularly and sharing what they knew that the region began to produce world class wine. They started sharing, and then they started flourishing.

It’s the same in the business world of Upstate, SC. Many of us care deeply about building organizations that help employees, customers, and our community flourish. Many are already doing that in our own corners. However, as we looked around, we didn’t see anywhere we could get together as leaders and share what we’ve learned about growing our businesses and people. How to flourish.

SO . . . WE CREATED FLOURISHMENT.

Every month we get together for lunch, a thought-provoking talk, and then—most importantly—discussion where we start personalizing the topic to our own businesses.

CO-SPONSORED BY ALIGN FOR BUSINESS & LEAF INSTITUTE OF ART AND VOCATION

Flourishment is

  • for leaders and their leadership teams who are building something and leading people.

  • for people who care about integrating faith more deeply and practically with their work and calling.

  • a “Lunch & Do.” There is always a significant amount of time to workshop what you are learning, so you can begin applying it to your organization. We learn by doing. We grow by doing. Let’s do.

  • a time to meet other amazing entrepreneurs, builders, and doers you might not otherwise meet—because they are busy doing!

If you’re a leader who cares about human flourishing, and who sees it as a key part of success, Flourishment is for you.
